I am wanting to relace my rear hub with a 16 inch rim instead of the 18 inch rim for lowering purposes. I am looking for an affordable supplier for the rim and the spokes. Any ideas would be appreciated.

16" harley rims are cheap, buchanans sells spokes .
probably cheaper to find low profile 18" tire for stock rim

what model bike....disk or drum...also an introduction is often considered friendly as well as helps folks to understand enough background to answer questions better

here is a 16" rim on a drum brake rear end,on a 1976 KZ900-A4 bike

the set up will not lower the bike a whole bunch because the nature of the tries that fit those rims is different and is only about 1/2-1 inch at best lower....it will change the feel a lot and handle better imo....but that is just me....

click picture to see the rim

btw ...i got the rim and everything pretty easy/used/online/in great condition for way cheap....

Sorry about no introduction, I am new to the forum world and not up on the etiquette yet. I have a 1978 KZ1000 with a rear disc brake. I have had the bike for quite a few years and love the old girl.

great offer and it will work too

or get a 16 " mag off a auction from a kz900ltd or kz1000ltd...they go super cheap with some goodies included...imo

Welcome

you can also mess around with your profile/info /avatar until you see signature and then type a little ,or,a lot

it will show up at the bottom of each post/reply and let folks know some info for future questions you might have...also if you include location...it might turn out there are local KZR folks, that see your location and chime in to help or connect with

Welcome

I appreciate the offer. I am kinda partial to the spoke look. I don't know why I am so stuck on spokes.

one other thin g to consider...is that within the year -often-other kz's turn up really cheap that have what you want...

before you go dropping any serious cheese...consider watching c-list for a spoke kz with issues or no title...or just a cheap one...then you dont end up cracking into your good bike to change what you could buy on another cheap....

watch the c-list and you will find the rims..maybe on a whole bike 300-400-500

i have!!!
