Alright guys I messed up and need some help.

Went to get rid of extra wires on my 78 650 sr and now the bike won't start.

I'm doing kick only so I have gotten rid of the starter solonoid, blinker wires, flasher boxes. Etc.

Trouble I'm having is somehow my battery is draining and the bike won't start.

I'm fine with bypassing the ignition if possible.

Can anyone tell me the colors-locations
For the 6 pin ignition switch ?

Also curious about the rectifier
Mine is a comboo unit I believe, 4 wires.

I'm going to be running a headlight and tail that's it.

If someone could help me out I'd be forever grateful, we have limited riding time where I live.

Thanks in advance fellas!

basic wiring diagrams. here's a topic by loudhvx in which he provides wiring diagrams for a number of KZs.
There may be one or two for kick start only. not sure. ???
bare bones for mattylight

For identifying the ignition switch & voltage regulator wire colors this may be close enough.
There may be a 650D diagram. I didn't do a specific model search.

Awesome ! I will check both of those out . I know I need a manual but honestly I can't afford that much for a book currently.

I appreciate any help!

Also does anyone know if I need the blue wire hooked up on my Dyna s? From what I read it's for oil pressure which I don't have a sensor for it

Martin the more I think about it I think the d wiring is different. My bike is an sr.

I believe the 4 wire rectifier combo that I have is aftermarket.

Anyone have info on those?

I feel like I'm asking alot. I just know there's some serious knowledge on this forum and it's my best bet.

Thanks again

Did you find a 650D wiring diagram? There's probably one linked here somewhere.
A 4-wire aftermarket reg-rec is probably wired the same as a stock unit, but it's possible the wire colors are different.
