My '83 1100 Spectre has a really bouncy speedo needle, maybe 10 mph bounce even at low speeds. Is this something I can fix myself? Guessing I will have to peel open the speedo case crimp, but what has gone wrong inside is what i'm wondering. I know some guys on here send theirs in to have this sort of work done, and if it's not a simple fix then I can do that. Some sort of needle damper that has gotten old or something I'm guessing....

I read your thread, you didn't fix it yourself, you sent them into someone else. But again, the question is, is this something I can fix myself?? Yes probably

But 99 percent of the time thw cable is binding up and then releasing tension inside the cable housing. It doesnt mean you did anything wrong installing , it . I have had this happen before
