Just today I noticed that my turn signal indicators and high beam indicator lights will just barely stay constantly lit, and when I flip on my high beam my speedo light goes out? Then I flip the low beam on and bam it pops right back on! Any ideas where to start? Especially with the constant illumination of the indicator lights.

I wonder if it could be corroded harness connects or maybe corroded grounds from the intermittent lines. When you turn on the high current load like the headlight it could make the voltage rise at the grounds of the other lines (?)

Also, check the condition of your battery and charging system. I assume the problem you mentioned is with the engine running? Ed

I've had the dual filament light bulbs break inside the glass envelope, causing weird situations like this. I'd start with known good bulbs, checking the grounds, and looking for corrosion in the electrical connections.

Also, the older bike's factory soldering jobs were not the best, and are starting to fail now. Open up the left and right handlebar switch "pods", and see if the solder joints are failing, if so, I've got a repair procedure, just ask.

Sorry should have mentioned it's a brand new Walmart battery, I replaced the main ground wire, and cleaned all the connections best I could with a wire brush, my charging system is up to par with the specs in the manual so that's ok

Sounds like an ground / earthing fault to me, sometimes on cars you see brake and indicators earthing through each other's bulbs. Older Ford Transit vans do this a lot, cleaning up the rear grounding terminal sorts the problem out as if by magic.

The black/yellow wires are your grounds, try sticking a wire into the -ve of your headlight and back to the battery -ve terminal and see if your problem goes.

Your main grounding is the battery -ve to engine cable, and a return through the starter solenoid. I've added extra ground here the rear lights on my rusty old GPz750R1 .
