I would check the voltage and check to ensure the rubber headlight dampers are still soft before installing the new bulb. Ed

I have never seen Sylvania offer a vibration resistant sealed beam headlamp. Do you know the model number for the one you're using? Ed

So they dont refer to it as vibration resistant I just picked that up in the reviews on amazon.

Its H4STBP I wanted off-road bright but I dont know much about what the bike is rated for or how illegal it would be in my state

I'm riding with the high beams on all the time since the 35 output is dim and perhaps still the factory bulb. It's a closed light - wondering how much street legal wattage I could go to without changing electrical components?

I replaced my headlight with a DOT approved LED from Truck-Lights. I don't have the bike wired yet to show how bright it is. Perhaps I can rig it to my battery tomorrow night to get some pics.
Here is what it looks like installed.
It fit perfectly in the OEM light housing on my 77 KZ1000

Speaking of which.....

Yeah but, those are on a Ford truck, and while I really like Ford trucks, those are priced way out of my budget.
I'll just have to stick with my 99 Ford Ranger Extended cab 4wd. Truck-Lite sells a 7" round LED headlight that is DOT approved and a drop in to any of the KZs with 7" round headlights. Might not be room for all those wires inside the shell though.

Plenty of room.

I'm very disappointed to say my new Wagner H6024 low bulb has burned out in less than 2 weeks. Bad luck, poor shipping, factory seconds, I don't know.

Extremely disappointed.

and then this happened after noticing the light was out...
Same here, the post from headlamp became loose

I use Stanley H4 motorcycle specific 7" round headlights that came stock on a lot of 80's Honda's. With Sylvania Silverstar H4 55/60w bulbs they are plenty bright and I live out in the country. The motorcycle specific lenses definitely spread the light to the sides better than a regular car lense. I can't remember the Stanley H4 headlight part number but can get it if anyone wants it.

. Hello, Stanley 001-1970, found on honda or Yamaha eBay sites, have on a 650, H4 led in it, at age 74 not normally out after dark, so don’t know how bright it is at night, have a Marchal lamplux in 900, H1 and H3 lamp, low and high, also using leds, put that in in 70’s, high beam on Marchal was really bright,
