There are different generations of Dyna electronic systems. The original Dyna had a two part system. The newest Dyna (Dyna S) has all the electronics integrated into the pickup units on the replacement timing disk.
I installed the Dyna S generation and my original OEM ignitions system was points driven so I never had the two part OEM Electronics (Igniter box and separate pickup units). So, I never had anything other than the points and timing disk to replace.
On the other hand, if your original OEM ignition system was the Kawasaki system and you are installing the same Dyna S as I am, then you will remove both parts (Ignitor box and separate pickup units). Then you install the single Dyna S disk, with all the electronics on it, under the Ignition cover on the right side of the engine.
IMHO, the Dyna S is a very clean and simplified solution.
Best of success.
