Hi Conspiracy,
Late Z-1A and all Z-1B SLIDE PN# 16025-075 (1.5 cutaway)
All Z-1 and early Z-1A SLIDE PN# 16025-051 (2.5 cutaway)
JET NEEDLE 5J9 PN# 16009-055

Don't mix cutaways on the same rack or idle will suffer.
Unwise to put a set of different cutaways on carbs that aren't jetted for them, or off-idle transition will suffer.

I can't identify my main jet. This is what came out from where my main should be.
Is this two parts or one?
The main for the z1 carbs says it is the large hex jet PN 04/042 however this doesn't look like the picture on the website

You have two parts there, the main jet and what is referred to as the holder.

Also to clear up your numbers
Frame VIN Z1F-505022
Engine VIN Z1E-085345

You have a 1976 kz900 USA made in Nebraska bike, Hence the VIN starting with 5 and yes a 75 Z1B engine

Thank you for the offer Greg. I came upon two sets of carbs yesterday off craigslist. They are kinda beat up but I think I can use the needle from one of them to correct the needle that I melted.

Do I need to separate the needle holder from the main jet? Would I do that by holding the hex with a wrench while turning the flat screw at the end?

I have 115 mains and 20 pilots. I am running rich according to the plugs. I got some 17.5 pilots from the carbs yesterday. Do you think I should use the 17.5 pilots or stick with the 20s and try to adjust the air screw and needle clip? I was thinking of ordering 120 mains since I have pod filters and 4-1 header but since I am already running rich not sure about going up to 120 mains. I am not fully sure I get up to the mains often however since I rarely get past 1/2 throttle in town. I do not ride on the highway or anything faster than roughly 50MPH.

Has anyone used generic gaskets off ebay for their carbs? I found a set of float bowl and top gaskets for like $20. Otherwise for NOS it looks like people want anywhere from $10-$20 for each gasket.

I would be wary of using gaskets off of the bay. Order your gaskets from www.z1enterprises.com

Wouldn't you hate to have shitty poor quality gaskets? Just order from the trusted source of z1.

Dang that was fast!
WIll give it a look.

z1enterprises has late vm28 float bowl gaskets but I cannot find carb top gaskets. My carb tops have 2 screws on the sides. The gaskets on their site have three screws. Any other trusted sources for carb top gaskets?
