I have a kz1100 a2 I had my carbs cleaned and I also released them and it still bogs down when accelerating. I also need to know more about the position of the peacock if anyone can help with these two issues I'd appreciate it

What do you mean by released them?
Bogging is often a sign of wildly incorrect fuel mixture, a malfunctioning timing advancer or valves badly out of adjustment. Did you change anything like air box to pods? Are you sure the carbs are completely seated in the manifolds?

The petcock has three positions. ON is the normal setting for riding. When the fuel gets low enough to cause the engine to sputter, then RES is the choice. PRI is to prime the carbs when they are dry for some reason.

Also how do you tell which position the peacock is in is it the longer end points to the position you want or the short part

You will have to change the jets in the carbs and readjust them. If you bought cheap pods, they may be blocking important air passages on the intake side of the carbs.

Many stock petcocks have a small arrow embossed on the handle. On mine, the hanle is opposite the operation chosen.

I will have to look at my peacock and see if i have an arrow also for the air flow it would probably be just as easy to put the old air box back on then to readjust them because I don't have the proper tools to readjust and i think they were the cheap ebay pods

Definitely put the air box back on unless you plan to spend a lot of time (and $$$) becoming a carb expert. Ed

The reported symptoms might result from fuel starvation due to inadequate fuel tank venting.

If not already done, would test ride with the fuel tank cap ajar (i.e., not snapped down), which assures ample venting, and to rule out inadequate fuel tank venting as a possible cause of the bogging when accelerating.

A similar cause could be crud of some sort (such as paint over-spray or whatever) suspended inside the fuel tank that collects around and clogs the filter screen on the petcock intake that protrudes up inside the tank.

The better fuel tank "flush" is imo a fast flush which entails tank removal in order to turn the tank upside down and fast dump out the contents through the filler hole.

There are also additional causes of fuel starvation, such as petcock malfunction, clogged petcock, clogged or pinched fuel line, water in the tank, etc.

Petcock positions --
ON relies on vacuum to allow fuel from the tank's main "upper" section.
RES relies on vacuum to allow fuel from the tank's reserve "lower" section.
PRI (Prime) doesn't need any vacuum, and allows gravity flow of all fuel from the tank through the petcock.

Good Fortune! :)

Could be a bad bsttery or charging system. These bikes need good power to run right. Straining the electrical system under load with a bad battery is bound to bog.

I believe I am in a similar position, I have noticed that the bike runs much better when I was jumping it, as if it was running on all four. and when I take it off the jump it seems to be running much rougher. I just bought a new battery, plugs, and oil and did got to pods which I'm not sure if I will keep - got the amazon set for 25 bucks, good construction in regards to air filter. I think and hope oil and plugs and a new battery will help it run much better. Possible it could be coils or spark, or fuel issues / peacock could be gummed up. The tank is a mess, all rusted and such.
