What shape is the inside of the gas tank? I know that new filters are on but do they get everything. I would guess you have to pull the carbs again and take a look. I would try a little shot of starting fluid or some gas in the carbs and see if she fires. If she does well then back to cleaning the carbs.

Even taking the PODS off and putting your hand over the carb inlet might get it going again. Just a thought.

Tank has had a kreem kit or something of the like done on it, and they actually did a decent job of that. I'm starting to suspect that the fuel line isn't actually fuel line and that it's degrading and ending up inside the carbs. Will pull them later and see if my jets are gunked up. Busy now preparing the house and yard for a huge party I put on every year.

They could be coming apart inside.

Just tore the carbs down again, sprayed out all passeges with cleaner and compressed air. Didn't notice any gunk. Bike still doesn't want to run.

Starting to suspect ignition timing or maybe my advancer is stuck. Just never had a bike run this good and just quit.

Just wondering if you don't have a lose or partial open someplace. I would go through the connections and clean them up. Slap a little dielectric grease on them, that might do it. I know the older bikes that I work on all have corrosion on the inside of the connectors and doing this little step always seems to limit the electrical gremlins. Hope that helps.

Screws backed out of the timing plate. Previous owner downgraded from cdi to points and didn't use lock washers.

Well at least you found what might be the issue. So no CDI box on the bike? Wondering if they changed out the engine? Can't remember how to run the engine VIN to see what yr it was. I have seen a page someplace for that though. Hope you get her up and running soon. Just wonder if that is the original yr engine for that frame? As long as you found the issue, get to riding.

Idk, it's got the 34mm carbs so it's post 1980. My guess is the cdi box burned up so they put points on it.

Squared up the timing and ran it around the neighborhood. Fun little bike! Clutch slips on hard shifts but runs strong all the way to redline.
