Oh they're already completely taken down as far as they can be while ganged. Waiting on new float gaskets and diaphragm cover screws (previous owner stripped a bunch...$2.50 a bloody piece!!)

I looked at the 1983 KZ750-L3 parts fishe and the carbs look just like every other set of BS CV Mikuni's I've seen, and don't see those small clips as mentioned. Can you post some photos?

The E-clips are in the Carburetor assy diagram & are fitted to the starter/choke lever shaft.

You can replace the screws with Allen at HD. I'd use penetrating oil On the tee's to make the move. They don't have to but it might help the O rings seal. I try not to get carb cleaner on plastic or rubber parts.

I'm not familiar with the Kawasaki Mikuni's specifically, but typically the interconnection tube O-rings are some of the most heavily degraded, thus it's best to ungang and replace them. Some carbs come with rubber coated interconnection tubes though, so if that's the case you are SOL if they are hard and the rubber shrunk. At any rate, cycleorings.com sells O-ring kits that work with the BS CV carbs. Soak the carb body in carb dip to assure all the passages are clear. It's extremely common for someone to spritze out the passages thinking the carbs are clean when they aren't. Do the job right once, and it will be done. Short cuts often turn into long cuts.

Give the entire bank a 24 hour soak in Pine Sol. It works great.
