Hi Guys,
New to the site (technically my second stint having had a kz650 in the past). Bought a pretty much stock 750 and it came with pods. I would rather have the stock airbox and would be willing to trade someone who is looking for pods or purchase the stock box if you have it. I do not know the brand of the pods but will happily take pictures. I am not a super mechanic and a little bit frightened that i won't get these to run well. The bike is not running well now and is flooding easily. Figured i have a better shot at switching back to stock. If anyone is interested figured we could do a one for one trade and eat our own shipping. Thoughts??

A picture is attached with my engine number I believe its an 82 KZ750 E2 and a picture of the pods

I suggest you add your bike's year and model to the posting. There were a lot of very different KZ750 models and the airboxes between models can have significant differences making them non-compatible. Ed

Including information about bike year and model is helpful to viewers and usually elicits better responses.

It's easy to put the information in your signature where it shows in all posted messages, past and future.

And the signature may be changed whenever and as often as desired.

If wanting a signature showing information about the bike in posted messages, it's easy to do.

Here's how:

I don't have the airbox you're looking for, but I can say that those cheap pods wouldnt normally be great on those CV carbs, and the tape on the filters tells me the PO obviously didnt jet them correctly

I hear ya loud and clear, its clearly jetted poorly as it is running way too rich. I have heard from different sources online that it is really difficult. I have never done that work before so i think i might be more successful going back to stock? I could be convinced otherwise. thoughts?

I'd go back since you descried yourself as not a super mechanic. It will take some work to get it right, but you just have to enjoy working on bikes  Haven't done CV carbs yet so they may be tougher?
Consider that someone may have played with the jetting and such, so a stock air box might just be the start.... work is work in my book. Also adding pods usually leans out the carbs so flooding points to other carb issues going on that a air box won't cure like a magic trick....

First thing, take off that tape. Then do the clear tube test. Once the float level is good, then you can go on.

I do love a good challenge so I might try the clear tube thing. Read the forum page on it. Figure it might be worth a shot!!! if I totally fail i will be buying a stock part and putting everything back to stock.

Thanks,
