The throttle is responsive and strong until it's nearly at full throttle, then it feels almost like it's missing and it won't go faster than about 85 mph. I've tried replacing the ignition and plugs, but it didn't fix anything. I've heard it could be a jet issue. Suggestions? Thanks.

Hello, iamspugeddy, and WELCOME to KZr! :cheer:

Perhaps main jets are too large, or maybe loose.

Is the air filter dirty or otherwise obstructed?

What is spark quality when viewed with plugs removed?
Supposed to be fat blue sparks, and not thin orange sparks.

Good Fortune! :)

Thanks for the replies. I'm fairly certain the bike is all stock, so I'll start with the filter and work my way towards the heavier work from there. I appreciate the help and I'll update as I go.

I'll be checking those out when I get home today. If that's the only problem, you will all be considered my heroes.

Back in the day I always wondered why the motor coppers wouldn't go faster than 80+ chasing me on my VFR700...I even out ran a helo once...
