Thanks Pete, i have read that also and there next to nothing on the Net about what to use safely. 1 person suggested drop them in boiling water - dont know about doing that.Reckon i will just them alone - cant find any safe chemical in searches so will give them a try as they are.

The o-rings are probably made out of nitrile . Nitrile usually doesn't get along with alcohol for extended periods of time. That's why us guys here have to replace them frequently with the alcohol in our petrol

So many different types of rubber out there.
Pretty sure i have got 95 octane fuel before with that damn ethanol mixed in and as it is $80 a set (bowl rubbers)here i gotta be careful where i get my petrol but they seem to come back to normal size if left out for quite a few hours.
What do you pay for a set of the the float bowl gaskets in USA ?

I believe that's ethyl alcohol that will damage rubber, the stuff put in our fuel now
Isopropyl alcohol will not damage rubber o-rings with the same time of exposure to clean them up, I wouldn't soak the for a week, but 15Min to a half hour will not hurt. I've been using this on rubber parts in master cylinders and carbs for over 40 yrs and never had an issue... Any petroleum based cleaners/solvents should be avoided unless you are dealing with viton o-rings....

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI have used 2 sets of these gaskets on 2 different rebuilds this summer and have been highly satisfied
They have gaskets for many applications and price is excellent

Harbor Freight has an assortment of Nitril O'rings. Get the metric ones, you can get the whole bunch of them for the price of a few from the Kaw dealer or Auto store.

Pete , Have actually got some Keihin OEM parts from PJ Motorsports in Oregon a fair while ago. Just checked and my float bowl orings are $11.95 US each.Float needles $14.95 .
tinlizzie had a look at Harbour Freight.com but could only find the normal small nitrile orings and (gloves , which are brilliant for playing with all sorts of nasty chemicals.)
Thanks fellas.
