I have a 1977 kz900 frame # Z1F-514064, engine # Z1E135901. I am confused about my carbs though, i needed to buy some new gaskets so i purchased the ones I thought were for my carbs but when I got them, the top gasket has three holes for screws where as my carbs only have two screw holes. And the bottom gaskets are not squared, they are angled on one side. According to Z1 enterprises it looks like I have carbs from a 1973 Z1 28mm carbs? The ID is 28.6mm, Can anybody help me out with what my carbs are and the gaskets I will need?

Those carbs are definitely Z1 carbs but I don't know the little details that would determine if they were from '73, '74 or '75 though.

I guess those are VM28 carburetors (WGcarbs.com Tech Stuff Index page).
From the diagrams at Partzilla the Z1 carb tops had 2 screws (73-75).
The stock KZ900 carbs had 3 screws.

In addition to anybody knowing the correct jet sizes, has anybody on this forum mounted up the 1975 Z1 Carbs to a 77 KZ900?

I have a Hynes manual, it is for my 77 KZ900 but it doesn't cover the 1975 Z1 Carbs that I just found out I had. The page didn't load if you were trying to upload it from Clymer manual.
