Hello,
I have my carbs apart for cleaning for the first time since I bought the bike in non running condition and want to make sure I put the right jets in it when they go back together. I've read on other posts to raise the pilot by 1 size since my bike has kerker 4>1 and pods. I'm not sure what to do on the main jet though. and I have absolutely no idea what it means to move the needle. The bike also has a dyna s ignition if that changes anything. I know it's hard to pick the right combo first shot, but if ya'll could give me a good starting point that's be alright by me!
Thanks in advance!

hellooooooo????

I still need some input here.

I've read that 120 mains and 17.5 pilots are what i need. any other input?

my current set up is stock (107.5 mains, 15 pilot, needle set one notch away from the point)

Hello, 78kz650guy, and WELCOME to KZr! :cheer:

Is a Factory Service Manual (FSM) available that covers the particular model at hand?

Good Fortune! :)

On my 78 Kz650 with a Vance and Hines header and Ape pods I was running 17.5 pilots. the nettle in the 5th clip 1 notch "up" from the stock 4th position and 112.5 mains, air screws out 1.5 turns.

Now that I've gone with the 700cc kit and small 750 cam I went with 117.5 mains and keep everything else the same and am thinking this is very close.
1978 KZ650 b-2
700cc Wiseco kit 10 to 1.

29MM smooth bores W/ 17.5 pilots, 0-6s and 117.5 main
16/42 gearing X ring chain and alum rear JT sprocket.

Thanks KZB2,

I found this on z1enterprises. I'm not disagreeing with you or anything, just throwing it out there for any input on it.
