I am switching from the air box to a air pod set-up on my bobber build. I am currently working on a 82 Kawasaki KZ550C LTD. Can anyone recommend a jet kit when switching to air pods? Any other advice would be appreciated.

This (home.comcast.net/~loudgpz/GPZweb/TK22mai...22jetsAndDrills.html) is info from another forum member. Great info! unfortunately there are no TK jets in different sizes for the TK-22 carbs. You can always buy more #92 jets and drill them out. I have read many threads on "upgrading" to the air pods and have found that no one has a direct answer for what size the main and pilot jet should be. Consequently you find a lot of people putting in very large main jets to compensate for not drilling the pilot jets.

I plan on using pods but I am going to lay up some fiberglass to make a box that the pods sit in to keep air flow closer to stock. The ultimate goal is to get rid of the huge stock box.

x2 on not hurting the air box. there are people who want them (maybe you after doing the pod swap)

Like Ed said, someday you, or someone else will want that airbox and boots. Put them away somewhere safe and label them.

But you can also get adjustable needles (and extra, stock jets) from the rebuild kits, and then you might not need the jet kit.

As Rebel mentioned, there is no source for bigger size pilots. There are a couple sources for larger mains.

IIRC 102.5 or 105 mains and lifting the needle one worked quite nicely for me on an 81 GPz550 TK slide carbs with pods and a 4-1 pipe.
