How do you lubricate the ignition advance mechanism? I had to replace the broken stock electronic ignition with a Dyna ignition and coils. It is just a magnet that rotates and triggers the sensor, right?

I did the exhaust pipe skin test and found that cylinder 3 was not firing. See the above link for a continuation of that topic/thread and what I did last night.

Regarding the float height, FSM shows 4mm + or - 1mm below top of bowl. Just did my 750's carbs last night on the bench.

Good luck!

I found the FSM (Factory Service Manual) and added the link to my signature. It needs to be rescanned from the original using a color printer from kinkos etc to detect the shading. Damned thing looks like a fax.

When I reset the float tangs, it seemed like I got it and then seemed like it got worse, but no gas pisses out and it ran for a bit. Then, per repair shop owner I tested exhaust pipe temps and found 3 not firing. Adjusted as discussed in air fuel mix thread and it ran until I ran out of gas.

Will be doing another cleaning and float check when I rebuild the petcock next week, and will also shake out the gas can again. Any idea what I need from Z1? There was no specific rebuild kit, just O rings.

This is what I got. The O Rings for the pilot jet plug in the bowl were a little tight, but could be made to work. I got those from Kawasaki at $9 ea

Yea, i got the same kit off ebay before this forum introduced me to Z1. Those damned 0 rings for the pilot plug sucked! I thought I was going to break those poor old plastic plugz... Will be getting a set of these carb cleaning wires with next order:

Ah, you meant petcock kit. Z1 has a bunch, but I couldn't determine exactly which one I needed. I bought this one along with a bunch of other stuff since Z1 was out of the tach seal kit I needed:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&v...tr&item=201158528016

Worked perfect.
