Hello all,
OK,...so I am playing with carb jetting and would like some recommendations. I know these have all been covered before but,....
I have a 78 KZ1000 bored to 1045 w MTC piston kit, VM28 carbs, kerker 4 to 1, pod filters. I have tried 17.5 pilots and 125 mains which were rich and then went to 117 mains which appear to be lean. What woudl you recommend?

Also,... I am considering going back to the stock air box and I am thinking 17.5 pilots with 107.5 or 110 mains,...your thoughts?
Your help is appreciated,...especially if I go back to the stock air box which is very hard to remove/replace even with new rubbers.

Can you raise the needles ? On 26 mm carbs I run 20/120. I would think you would need 20 on the small jets. If you can raise the needle to the third slot you can go from there.

Check the voltage going to the coils. This is very important.

The 28's needles would need to be shimmed, they do not have notches. Any thoughts on jetting with the air bix back in? Coil mod is done so I'm getting good voltage to the coils.

No idea on stock jetting but that they left the factory lean.
