I went through a 1428 motor earlier this year for a Hill Climber. I did up the head and put web 122/128 cams in it with 38.6 Intakes. At Dansville NY I got to watch it run a week ago Sunday... Those guys are CRAZY ;)
Greg Coyne 69 KZ1428...my grandson sitting on the bike and misc pics...Poags Hole Hill Climb.

Greg is 52 years old and as near as I can tell has no concept of fear...

Hill climbs are awesome, its a shame that the size/steepness of the hill never comes through in photographs. How did it run?
Mine:
04 Honda rebel 250(wifes)
04 GSXR 750(bolt on galore)
98 CBR 600F3(filter, pipe, adjustable cam sprokets, dyno tune)
76 KZ900A (LTD gauge pods, crash bars, LTD(style)pipes, dyna coils and ignition, headwork and mild port cleanup by cavanaugh racing, K&N filter pods, heck I dunno.

Bike ran great.....Hill was a real bastard. Lots of crashes about 7/8 of the way up. Vertical wall right there.

I don't know if it was on...I have to talk to Greg. If he has it, I'll get a copy and post it. YES, they are insane. You have to stand there and actually look at that hill but here's a comparison for you.

Freemansburg times are in the 7 second range and it's a longer hill. At Poags hole the times were in the 20 second and up range...IF you made it up and over the hill. That's how difficult that hill is. Those 450's went better than the big open class bikes did.... Those things flew!!!

There were a couple of KZ powered bikes. One wicked HD powered bike running pure nitro. He did a double back loop right where Greg crashed twice. Men of Steel!!
