The set up is a snap. The worse part is getting rid of the crate.

Ive had one for 3 years, I love it but loading a bike on it I get vertigo, I made removable side rails to walk the bike up 8 more inches. Ive got short legs. then I bolted a tilt chock and moved the u bolts back and no problem strapping it down by myself. When I need room I push it under my work bench. Im old enough I deserve it like Power steering and air conditioning my old 69 fordXfour never had.

You are going to love it. You'll wonder how you did without it.
I am a little tight on space so I always have one bike on it even if I am not working on it. But let's face it, there is always something to do on any bike...

I've got it in a usable position. I'll eventually at least have it farther forward with the 1000 on it but this is where it will be for the time being. I didn't mess with the wheel clamp silliness and just put a self lock chock on it which holds pretty well until you can get it further secured. Between that and the paddock stand i really don't need the straps, Those are on there because I was positioning the lift slightly. I'll use them for major wrenching though.

Looks like my ceiling is tall enough.

Just make sure you have a trailer or truck and a way to get the lift loaded and unloaded. Comes in a small coffin like box.

Will be adding some pics of the JB weld patch of that cover. If that does not work then I will look into MIG/TIG or other patch.

Bolted on my wheel chock tonight, makes things much easier. I can now push the bike onto the lift and have it captured by the chock and held upright, making the process of strapping it down by myself easy.

Which chock is that ? Thinking I need to make that addition to mine.

Harbor freight auto chock. About $40 regular price.

You can't use it on its own but it'll hold it stable long enough to get up on a paddock stand or ratchet down.

Been reading this post, I have a HF lift that I picked up a few months ago. I will have to do the wheel chock mod, that is a great idea! I even think I have one running around the shed and not being used. Great place for it. Without the chock it is something to get the tie downs to release without tipping too much.

I've been looking at these HF lifts for a long time. I got a 20% off coupon too.

i bought one a few months ago. the older model which is 68892. it has a c channel for the main frame stronger setup than the 69904. I also bought the wheel chock upgrade from them. drilled holes in the table with some shorter stainless carriage bolts works perfectly.
