Yes, I was afraid that the cap would distort as well. I tried the donor cap but it was a no go. After looking long and hard at the broken cap and thinking about how it works I opted to just put it back in broken. Sounds crazy I know but it was a clean break and the bridge does not lend any support, it merely spaces the two ends. After it was torqued down you could hardly even tell it was broken. The bike is back up and running. I will post up some pics of DGR Phoenix tomorrow night.
