No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationWill these fit in my 79 KZ650? I will also port and polish the head, and upgrade the valve springs.

The early 750 camshafts have more duration than the 650 cams, and retained the mechanical tach drive. The later bikes went to an electrical tach so the drive helix was removed from the exhaust cam starting for the '83 model year on at least some of the different model bikes.

Regarding the valve springs, Kawasaki shared the springs across a wide range of different models. For example, the 550 and 1000 engine shared the same springs for many years. Guess what I'm driving at is that your stock springs should be able to handle the 750 cams easily.

Like Ness says the 1980 KZ750 cam has 10 degree's more duration and are .326 or .330 lift vs .304...... I've read both and not sure of which is correct ...... The GPZ are 10deg more yet and around 365 but like told have no tack drive and the base circle is different. Have been considering them but don't like the idea of switching out the tack and don't really under stand what you need to do to correct the base circle .....
