The valve stays put regardless of attachment. There is a sick connect fitting. 3-5 cranks and it pumps up. 180psi across the bank. R

Here's what the tip of a hold-in type, or hold-in adapter should look like.


This is the same tester I picked up after my Craftsman gave up....... some where around 12-15 bucks at Farm and Fleet a few years back.

Could get it to double check.
1978 KZ650 b-2
700cc Wiseco kit 10 to 1.
1980 KZ750 cam, ape springs, stock clutch/ Barnett springs.
Vance and Hines Header w/ comp baffle and Ape pods, Dyna S and green coils, copper wires.
29MM smooth bores W/ 17.5 pilots, 0-6s and 117.5 main
16/42 gearing X ring chain and alum rear JT sprocket.

On the hold in type, the check valve is also the relief valve.

With the attachment types, the relief valve is on the gauge end. But the attachment should have the check valve in the tip like this one.
