This thing is still going on? I just drove my truck to my daughter's place because she said it's too cold. It's not cold, chilly but I'd rather ride the bike. Cold as a Siberian witch's titty down there. (She just want's to use dad's carpenter tools.)

My mate from the Royal Navy managed to 'find' a 500 row 100 gallon marine diesel oil cooler, I checked the original FSM and for the 550 series it says 3.7 litres capacity...should I add some more oil? :side:

This subject does have its merrits. Each bike is different. If you add a cooler, it is a good idea just to round up. Iv'e allways put four quarts in each one and never had a problem. That's my 2 cents.

Castrol GTX sounds cool. Rotilla doesn't but makes the bike run better. So much for cool. B)

Doh! You are trolling me into this again.

Castrol GTX 20/50 was great in the 80's before the friction modifier additives. I used it all the time. I liked the advert and music too.. "liquid engineering".

What is it about any thread with 'oil' in it?

Note the plummy public school English accent, we can be such snobs us Brits lol

I've run GTX 20/50 in all my engines for over 40 years. It's because of this site I tried Rotilla. Immediately I noticed the difference. Stopped burning oil and compression is up. I don't take to change easily but when you're right, you're right. B)
