How do you guys clean up / brighten up the aged, dull, stained looking engine covers on your bikes ??

My engine looks horrible......I would like to do something to brighten it up while I'm working on it.

It really depends on how oxidized or stained the parts are, and how shiny you want them to be. Here is a thread with some suggestions

I had an old ford PU that had non coated aluminum wheels on it. I used an aerosol spray cleaner on them, followed by polishing them with Mothers Aluminum Metal Polish. They turned out looking really nice.

I was wondering if anyone here has tried any of the aluminum spray cleaners on there engines.

The engines in the link TexasKZ provided sure look sweet !! Not sure I have the patients / ability to do all that to my bike. Arthritis in my hands limits what I can do.

Hi I have the same problem. I modified my angle grinder to accept the buffing wheels. The wheels, some compound and the coupling all come from Home depot and Eastwoods. I must credit Herm at Dime City Cycles for the inspiration. He has a "Polishing 101" section on the web site for caferacertv.com. Check it out.
