Just bought my first kz650, I was out riding it (rode fine), shut it off, when I went to leave again it wouldn't engage any gears. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What's it doing when you try to engage a gear? Clutch dragging? let out the clutch and no go?

Hello, Ryland, and WELCOME to KZr! :cheer:

Possibilities include:
Shift lever loose on spline;
Counter-shaft sprocket fell off its spline;
Broken drive chain.

Good Fortune! :)

Did you try rolling the bike back and forth while shifting into first? These bikes come with a safety feature that wont allow you to shift gears while sitting still.

Thanks for the quick reply guys!! I think it was just over filled on oil. We seen to have gotten it to engage after draining the oil to the proper level. I don't really understand why that would matter but it did.
