Ok so this is my first post, I hope I'm doing it right! Anyway I have a 77 750 twin and it was acting up so I tore it down and found a bad spot in the one sleeve. Went to my machine guy and he said I need to find a piston set at least .25 mm over stock. I am having a hard time finding a set, looked on eBay with no luck. Also called wiseco and they had no listing. Any body have a pair for sale!? Thank you in advance!

Try 13029-1039 or 13029-074. There are a few on ebay. Finding rings may be more difficult.

I have a pair of 0.25 over pistons that are almost new but the oil ring is broken on each one (compression rings are fine). I ran them about 50 miles after the rebuild, but the base gasket failed and I had to tear the engine down again to change it. The oil rings broke going back together so I just bought a new set of pistons/rings and still have these. If you can come up with a couple of +.25 oil rings, you're set.

Sell them cheap if you want them.

NOTE: Kawi factory pistons go in steps of 0.5mm, so first over is 0.5mm and second over is 1.00mm. Aftermarket go in steps of 0.25mm. Be careful if the ad says "first over" make sure you know what the actual size is.

In English units: 0.5mm is ".020" over" and 1mm is ".040" over".

Bountyhunter, that may be my best bet, I really need to get my jugs over for machining before he gets busy. He just needs the pistons in hand to bore. That will buy me time to find a ring set. My machine guy explained to me how the sizes work. Thank you for the help everybody. I'm sure this won't be my last question.

PM sent.

I think the compression rings are good. I still have the pieces of the broken oil rings so maybe your machinist could direct you to some place that could get you a couple of rings size to order? Or you might get lucky and find a set of +0.25 rings on fleabay.
