So, my 82 kz LTD1000 has had some second gear "issues" since I bought it. Popping out of second, trouble getting in to second... general indications of a hard life and need for repair. I ran some Sea Foam through the crank case briefly before the last oil change, and second gear is probably 60-70% better behaved than before. Now feels solidly engaged, unless it isn't, but still so much better than before. Is it possible that things were "gummed up"? Any insight towards what I'm actually looking at to get the gearbox correct? Thanks in advance. I don't know how I'd keep this bike going without this site and you guys the users.

Sounds strange to me,but crazier things have happened! Usually 1st/2nd gear engagement issues are caused by chewed up engagement dogs from wanna be drag racers slamming it into 2nd gear. ;)
Still recovering, some days are better than others.
