I'm happy for your because broken bolts/studs/screws are a pain.
Remember that flexed metal does bend back, but it is not the initial bent that comes back. its generally the metal just aside the initial bend.
To straighten a 45 deg bend, new 45 deg bend or 2 new 22,5deg (or any combination) close to the initial bend must be created. It is a lot of stress (more stress than most of us will encounter in a whole year). Metal hardens has it is worked and the harder, the most brittle hence easy to break.
