Here are some photos of today's North American Relay Ride for those of you that like that kind of thing.

Boostable next to his gorgeous Victory. Was good of him to stay on the way considering there was a mishap with one of the members in his riding group.


This is the KZ400 that made it happen today. Flag traveled to Ocklawaha via the Ocala Forest with Boostable and his buddy who owns this KZ400 plus 14 other riders.

Kawickrice met me around 10:30 a.m this morning at Lady Lake, Fl at my son's little league game. We rode 15 minutes from there to Gator Joe's in Ocklawaha, Fl situated on Lake Weir. Things got delayed due to a mishap by one of the riders on Boostable's riding group. Seems he will be o.k. but sustained a broken collar bone. Figured it may not happen, and of course would have been fine with that, but after the member was on the way to hospital and his bike on a trailer, they pushed on. Hand off ended up happening at 1:30 p.m. Kawicrice, his girlfriend and myself didn't mind the wait much, since this was great venue and we had lots to talk about. Had to leave everybody by 2:15 p.m. and get home so my wife can leave for work. Clocked 90 miles on the KZ. All in all, this was a very good day.

Image of the bike that went down on the way. Beautiful machine Can't see any damage but I didn't get close to it. Important thing is that the rider will be o.k. and recover from his mishap.

Great Pics, Great bikes Kawickrice and KZJOE900, I will be working on the 1000 all day tomorrow.. lol The KZ400 owners name is Mario, and all the damage to that ZRX is on the other side. We all survived and had a great day..

All in all it was a good day. I lost my phone 70 miles into the ride and had to buy a new one once I got back to Tampa, sucks lost years of phone numbers but at least my collar bone is intact. When you think you are having a bad day someone always trumps you. Boostable I hope your riding friend is not to banged up.

The best thing was meeting new people with similar interests in these old bikes. Next stop Macon GA

I see a nice little CB360 there in the middle.

Edit: Or a CL since it has that type of exhaust.

You had it right. A CB360T. Nice bike. They were all nice bikes in their own right.

Just got back home safe and dry from escorting Kawickrice on his journey to GA. Clocked 146 miles, but made a stop to an Earl's Cycle Center in Ocala on the way back. Left the house at 10:10 am and made it back by 2:45 pm. All I have is some pictures of us at McDonalds and a gas stations, but Kawickrice will be posting the ture pictures this leg of the relay. Just wanted to break his ride up a little so its not just cars and trucks to look at all the way to Macon. It was an enjoyable ride. Had a few problems with bike. Will trouble shoot on another thread.

Met Kawickrice and is gal Debbie at wildwood. Not sure how long if any he waited for me. But as soon as I got into Wildwood my bike died on me. Reserve is non-existent. Left Debbie a message (she is supporting Kawickrice as a chase vehicle in case of trouble) and told her I'm 300 yards from the McDonalds we are supposed to meet at. Anyhow, gas station was 50 ft away. Pushed, gassed it up, fired her up, and made the last couple of hundred yards to meet them.

Hi Jack, sorry didn't contact you. But everything was up in the air even up to this morning. I stopped in to see about syncing my carbs. But will need to change pilots first and go back some other day. Great place. He had a lovely Norton 850 Commando. Always wanted one. It was sold ($7000 he tells me). Spoke to Earl a bit about the Z's. Very nice guy. Was nice enough to let me take some pictures.

Joe I enjoyed riding with you on my way to Macon. Sure beats riding by yourself. jydog and Angel, Me and Debbie enjoyed meeting yall and having dinner hope the ride home is a safe one Pics coming soon

Here is some pics and story's of the 375 mile trip I had with the flag from Tampa FL to Macon, GA on April 21st 2012


I am in Wildwood, FL talking to jydog while I was waiting at the meeting spot so KZ900Joe could escort me to Gainsville, FL. Thanks Joe much appreciated.





The rain percentage was 80% for the trip. My wife was terrified to ride on the back that far in a monsoon so we came up with something that made us both feel safer. We decided that she should follow me with my van with trailer. Now I have a support vehicle with trailer if needed and she did not have to ride in the rain, win, win situation.

I met KZ900joe on the way and we rode for a while before he had to turn back, pics from support vehicle

I did encounter some rain not as bad as I was expecting. I had to stop to put on my rain suit.

Here I am crossing from Florida into Georgia. The KZR flag has officially crossed state lines with many more on the list.

I would also like to send a shout out to fivestrings who tried like a mother to stop a cam plug gusher, but time was not on his side. He was to meet me at the Florida Georgia line and pass the flag to jydog in Macon, would have saved me a few hundred miles miles but the flag had to move and I stepped up to get it done.

I enjoyed the ride and the people I have met along the way. When this Flag has made the last hand off it will have made many many friends and interesting stories.
