If you do that it seems like you'll get into the category of a trailer, which the hitch-type carriers are designed to avoid.

If you have a wheeled device rolling behind your vehicle I think you would have to add a brake light, turn signals, license plate, etc. as you would with a trailer. I could be wrong, though.

I built one like it in the 70's to carry a Honda XL350 behind a Pontiac LeMans. It worked well and I used it to drive from Oregon to Missouri and back. I made cable tie downs that clipped on to the bike in 4 places with the suspension collapsed slightly. I didn't have a ramp, just lifted it into place but I was bigger and stronger in those days. :woohoo:
I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

Pretty amazing video, Ed!!! I could hardly stand to watch it though, i kept "flashing back" to my kid brother dropping my Turbo off the side of a u haul truck ramp...(Wonder if that guy had a dent in his head after that balancing act!) LOL!
