I'm looking for a better backpack, use one to ride into work. Something that can hold a few things, and some place to put my coffee thermos. I would like something at least sort of water tight. Any suggestions?
If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

I wear a backpack occasionally, but prefer not to . It just makes me wince, thinking of landing on the thermos with a few ribs or a spine.

If it's going to be an every day thing, I would go with a tank bag or saddle bags, or a backpack designed to attach to something that you leave strapped to the rear seat.

So a tail bag or soft saddle bags... ok would be nice if they can come off easy. I would want to take a bag up to the office with me, that's why I was thinking a back pack...

I also have 2 and soon 3 bike I can take to work... so the easier it is to move for bike to bike the better.

I have a back pack that I bought for $15 at Big 5 sports. It actually matches my commuting Joe Rocket jacket. It has a mesh pocket on either side of it that I stuff my stainless coffee cup in and zoom on into work. On the way home I put my phone and solar charger in the other mesh pocket.

I have a motorcycle specific back pack. Oglio Mach 3. It has a streamlined hard outer shell. Its main job is to hold my coffee cups when I ride to work.

Though I have a corbin G.F. I have an ltd grab bar that sticks up quite high and is nice to hold a bag and keeps my toe off the fender. I used to put my thermos under the seat and pack my pic nic garbage in Plastic containers because bunji cords are hell on horse peter baloney samiches. I shudder to think getting straps off the bag wound up in anything  B) color code optional When fishing , I use a pack rod and Wing it,,,LOL!!!

For ease of removal the Rapid Transit Recon 23 looks promising. webBikeworld has a review. It has built-in bungee cords with hooks, so there are no straps that have to be attached to the bike (which can be a pain). Revzilla carries it & probably some other places. The Mototrek sport tail bag at motorcyclesuperstore is another one with hooks. I think Cortech makes one w hooks.

Tank bags have magnetic flaps they stick to the sides of the tank. To remove it you just pull the bag off and fold the flaps onto themselves. They come in different sizes and some can expand. Also handy to hold your phone/mp3 player, map, ezpass/change.

I popped into the local classifieds and found a good deal on 2 tail bags and a tank bag.

My coffee better fit.
