I am putting together a pretty epic ride from the SW MI area out to the Wild Cat Mountain area in WI. I cannot claim the credit for that goes to saxjonz. Anyone interested contact me or post here. Ive already got more than a couple riders here in Niles MI ready and rearing to go. Just figured Id invite a few KZRIDERS. Thats me on the black KZ with a custom fender eliminator and my brother on the 650 Nighthawk. He will be joining any who come along for the ride. No accounting for taste but if it gets you in the wind...

Epic? I have ridden up around Wild Mountain for the past 3-4 or is it 6 years? :silly:

Lawrence knows of this because of me introducing him to the ZRX group. He can have full credit but I will take all the blame! :P I ride up there about every year. Good roads and if you are staying at Pleasant Valley Cabins you will be treated right. Good people with a barn, beer and Llama to keep you entertained.
Some of last year's low lights......

I'm committed to a 2 day poker run in Richmond IN that weekend...Dunno HOW that works...Sheesh!
( I will take & post pix of anything cool!) I have gotta get an epic road trip under my belt though..I might hate it...(but I don't think I will!) Have fun, ride safe!

A few years ago I went on my second AND last poker run. I met a group I had never ridden before. We met at a bar in a town not far from me. They gathered, doled out playing cards. I paid some cash for my cards while some members drank beer. The organizer's wife and lead rider choice of beverage was tequila. As we left the outskirts of the town this lead rider pulls a bone-headed move by turning left in front of a just turned green traffic light, no green arrow. She was almost buried in the grill of a SUV. She then did not wait for everyone to clear the intersection. Not everyone knew the route or how to get to the next stop on the Poker Run. She just left the stragglers behind, not even waiting at turns in the road. It was a rather inconsistent pace to say the least. Keep in mind the bikes were mostly modern sport bikes. At the next stop, we discovered a few of the participants were missing due to the leader not waiting for them. I found out later that they just did not know where to go and gave up. Well one stretched Hayabusa had mechanical issues too. So, this female lead rider is in the next bar and we are playing the Poker Run card game as she orders up another shot of tequila. It was at this moment that I announced that this "Run" was taking longer than I had anticipated and I needed head for home. Let's just say Poker Runs that I experienced are not my cup of tea. :pinch:

Grumpy, my advice is head for WI or someplace else such as Southern, IN or WVA with a group of trusted friends and ride. Poker Runs are social occasions. If that is your thing then wish you the best, enjoy the experience and please be careful.

Hey Forest, thanx for the feedback! sounds like it was a clusterhump! LOL!
I almost always ride alone, and this will be my first (And possibly last, lOL!) poker run, so I am a bit apprehensive about plunking myself down in the middle of big bunch of (bigger) bikes....I don't think keeping up will be an issue, or getting my little rice burner thrown on a campfire, &c, but I do worry greatly about drunk idiots...the girl that asked me to escort her on this thing (100 lbs, cute as a bug's ear, and a great passenger, BTW) is one of the" A team" bartenders at the club that is sponsoring the thing, so that's kind of cool, (and, honestly, what is leadiing me to try it out...getting hugged all day won't suck! ) . Hopefully the point rider will be sober & sane, and not run off & leave everyone in the wilds of Indiana. I do hope I am not the only non HD in the crowd, but if so, so be it! Let my freak flag fly! I like my baby! thanx again for the feedback and the good wishes! Like I said, I will post anything appropriate here after the fact.

If I was single, I would do exactly what you are planning! I truly hope you have a great experience. I personally think the right riders in a group make for a more interesting and enjoyable experience than solo riding.

Now as far as Youngvintage and his Wildcat Mountain Ride. I wish him safe riding and a great time. I would like to go but I have discovered as of yesterday that I have swollen/bulged discs in two of my cervical vertebra. I don't think I will be in shape to make this ride. :(

Hope other KZ Riders can rally at Wildcat Mountain and have the time of their lives!

Well my brother and I both managed to get the week before the planned departure date off from work so were gonna turn it into a week long event and just kinda meander around the wild cat mountain area. Every other rider that was going to join us either doesn't work or are business owners so we are gonna just enjoy ourselves without rushing.
