So......
I hit the road out of north bay at about 11am got on 11 and rode down to 12 took 12 down to the 401 and then west to cobourg.(feeling kinda scared of the 401 been a while since I had to deal with that)
Stopped in newtonville thinking Id missed my turnoff and called mark "your almost here man carry on"
Got into cobourg around 5pm and found the woodlawn inn called mark and told him"I made it wheres the liquor store?"
went and got some whiskey, moved into my room, had a shower and a drink.
Mark and his wife Dianne soon showed up and we got aquainted and had a brew together.
"Its our anniversary so we're going out for dinner tonight.you should go check out the beach"
Im tired and say I need a meal and a rest I might take a walk down there later.
So Im hanging out at this beautiful old inn with a bunch of folks whose shit dont stink walking around drinking whiskey.
my neighbours arrive fresh from their wedding wearing a tux and a wedding dress carrying pots and pans and a george foreman grill.
I decide to go for a stroll down to the beach and get some shorts along the way(traveling light)
I bump into Mark and Dianne at the local bargin shop and they take me on a tour of downtown cobourg.
They both know everyone and everybody keeps stopping to say hi.
We wonder over to a little bar and have a few beers.
Its starting to get dark and Im getting tired Dianne tells me to call riccos for some good pizza
I make my back to the wood lawn inn order some pizza eat and crash.
The pizza was great the inn was fantasticly beautiful Mark and Dianne were great and a pleasure to meet, the day was a scorcher, the ride was the first longer one Ive done with this bike and very comfortable started feeling confident in its ability
END of day one
ps before i crashed i called mark. dianne answered and i told her to call me around 7am to make sure i wake up in time
she did

As a famous man posted earlier in this thread, I/we in Western Canada don't want
to be wearing Carharts (or heavier stuff) when the flag finally gets here.......Ya know what I mean, Vern ?? ;) It is, after all, almost the end of July and crap weather CAN come early to the Prairies.
Any/all help with dates is greatly appreciated.

Doubt it'll be heading out our way this year Rick!

Just spoke with Dave near Sudbury.
He recieved the flag from Jeff today.

Dave's bike is having some electrical issues, but he thinks he should be able to fix the problem.
We've set Wednesday to meet up about half way between Sudbury and Sutton (where I am)
in Parry Sound.

I need to hear from who ever I need to pass the flag onto to next.
I will try to contact them.

Is mopguy still in? He's in Toronto, otherwise it's off to Drew (Drooz) if he's ready in Mississauga, or David (kawboy74) in Burlington.

Or to Owen Sound to meet Barry, M357.5.
Barry we've been trying to contact you.

Just talked to Jeff; made it back to North Bay. Great to meet you Jeff, and that sweet GPZ! Thanks for stepping up and making that epic run to the states!

Minor electrical issue as I pulled up (found out the plug from the rectifier/regulator was in bad shape (bike ran like a top for 7 years, and decides to act up on our hand off... :woohoo:). Cut out the plug, a roadside splice job and off we go.

So the flag will be on the move Wednesday. Rob, just got an e-mail from Barry; he is unavailable this week or weekend, so I will get in touch tomorrow as discussed, and we'll set up our meet. You'll have to get in touch with him.

The original plan was for Jeff and I to head to Owen Sound via Manitoulin, but Jeff got called back to work, so will be meeting with Rob. Here is a pic from earlier; had to keep it small (makes it harder for the p-choppers :woohoo: )

Jeff, we'll have to do the Manitoulin/Tobermory run. It's a great ride, and I think the ferry crossing is something like a 3 hour tour... :woohoo: :woohoo:  .

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Patton, I knew you wouldn't let me down! Should have started a pool...

Regardless, the flag is on the move again tomorrow, as I will be meeting rstnick in Parry Sound. Went for a test ride tonight to make sure all is well after my re-wiring this morning. Stopped at a local landmark; since Sudbury, Ontario is a mining capital I submit this for your viewing pleasure... B)

Edit: I've added 30 KZR patches to the package for those relay rides who might not have one...

Nice going with the schedule you guys, I am waiting for Rob to call me when he gets back from hooking up with you for the next stretch. One of those patches would be sweet! How full is the flag getting to be with signatures?
