I provided the ride stickers & put the last of them in with the packet seemed like there were
plenty of patches left at the handoff at least enough to finish the next leg????
I would look again but I think they were a bonus I dont remember anyone volunteering them

I don't know where they came from but a guess would be from extra moneys generated through the sales of Relay T-shirts  if so , thank you Topper.

I would again like to say thank you to Ram for getting the stickers made.

It would be cool to have an actual Relay patch made somewhere down the line, I'm in for 20 bucks to get it rolling if someone can make it happen :)

I will be off work a few more weeks I could do some research but quite franly I am broke so no way to pony up the money to heve them made the initial order would have to be paid for

of there is any interest or different artwork or stein have a problem with it we could start another thread for rider Patches ( I think just a little bigger than the ride stickers same design)

Is the flag moving this weekend on to Leg#3?

Things got quiet so thought I'd bump this to check if that was still the plan.

BlackZ1R:

I am supposed to be in a wedding this Saturday, Oct. 20th. I could do Sunday, or a weekday, if we plan ahead. Anyway, do you have any preference as to when we can meet?

Yes, they help me too. I use an elastic band to ride with. I am nearly 75% now and getting better. Will be a lot better by this weekend. I snatched my back out with a big jolt of lectricity from a TV chassis. :woohoo: Chiropractor got me straightened out. :cheer:

A chiropracter helped me out after I wrecked my back once. You could have saved your money tho. Just reverse the polarity and do it again. :woohoo: What doesn't kill you just makes you stronger.

OK the plan is set for this Sunday, Oct. 21st. I will ride from Houston to Alexandria, LA on Sunday morning. BlackZ1R will ride from Florence, MS to Alexandria the same time. The handoff will occur a little after Noon. We will probably do lunch, tell some war stories, and take some photos, plus whatever points of interest we can find. After the flag is handed off, etc., we will each ride back home that afternoon. Full day of riding, but we both have to get back due to things to do on Monday.

Let the good times roll !

Outstanding! This is history making. Leg 2 to Leg 3. Hope you guys have a safe trip. I've PM'd Mine20 in San Antonio. If the flag goes west he might be the next connection. He's been working on a cafe racer with a KZ650. It might be ready to ride, but will be a short range bike. BSKZ650 are you ready to roll? You are the next in line, then OKC_Kent if the flag goes north.

As far as direction goes: going west to keep things moving sounds good. However there is not any riders till Colorado and the weather will probably make that connection difficult if not impossible. It's up to the participants if they can make the connections, but I've traveled through the areas to the west of Oklahoma City and just last week through Texas and it's getting cold!

My feeling is go north and east to include as many riders as possible till the weather stops everybody cold. (PUN INTENDED!)The distances are short to cover about 6 riders if there no 1 or 2 week delays. We should be able to get the flag into Missouri, maybe around St. Louis before the big chill. (more pun) Then sit on it til spring. Move up thru Illinois into Wisconsin and Minnesota, then west to N.Dakota and S. Dakota and south to Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas before heading west to Colorado. That puts the flag in the western states in late spring or early summer to complete the journey next year.

Just my thoughts. Of course it's pretty much up to the individuals on the course. How say you all?

Illinois is not a problem when the time comes, I promise it wouldn't get bogged down here.

The South West isn't going to go away , you guys need to network,do you want to wait until it gets 100+ deg. to figure it out, you have all Winter to push it West and head North.

California should be gravy right ?

Come on guys start talking.

Glad to hear things are moving. This is a relay-related issue, although not specific to moving the flag.
On my trip to move the flag, my GPz stopped twice. No power. I have traced it down to the magical junction box under the left side cover. Does anyone here have any experience with this magical unit? Have a spare? I will post in the electrical section of the forum also, but I seldom received any assistance there back in the KZ days due to inactivity, so I thought I would post here as well.
Thanks.
