I agree. It is reassuring, not only to see it moving again, but to see it moving so quickly now. This is awesome.

Kawickrice, you've got the record for the longest run so far 375 miles! You home safe now?

Trianglelaguna, sound like a great gig. From talking to Eric enaz1 he is going to try to make a run to South Carolina the comming Saturday and meet up with tbolt99 with both riders covering 250 miles each to the rendezvous and then back home if all goes well.

We could still really use a rider in SC or southern NC to help tybolt99 and enaz1 out.

And we're already looking at dates for the hand off from tybolt99 to me in VA.

We're shooting for a quick turnaround, just riding as a group from South Hill, VA to Leesburg, VA and passing the flag to 650ED (MD).

For those just tuning in, We've just kicked off the first leg. So far we've hit FL and GA and we're heading up the East Coast in the hope of reaching Newfoundland.

Other legs are in the works. Check out www.VintageKawasakiRelay.com for details.

Yep I am home now. Now I can watch the progress instead of being the progress. ;) Me and Debbie had a great time doing this and had a blast. We are thankful to be a part of it. I think everyone involved will have great stories to share.

Craig,
Nice score on the work and its good to see you back. Here are a few of the threads for the relay. I got it out of Florida yesterday and it is making its way to Cali, just don't know when. Here are a few active links and I am sure there are more.

The East Coast leg thread is the active one moving the flag as of now

I might hold it now but I know it will not last long. :( Looking at the map some riders will make me look like I was sitting still. That gave me the inspiration just knowing there will be more sore asses than mine when this is all said and done. ;)

I think it'd be cool for someone should write down the year and model of bike that carried the flag throughout.

I make maps for a living, I can probably design some kind of map when it's all said and done. KZ900's carried the torch for 800 miles, Z1s- 750, KZ1000s- 1500, KZ650s- 500, etc.

The flag is being signed with a sharpie with the name of the person, make, model and year of bike. I am sure it will be full when finished.

That would be cool if you could document this trip map style and crunch the data at the end for the stats. I like the idea. Could you do this as it happens or would you have to wait until its finished. I like it.

Click on the link to the map on my signature to take you to the map. But you will need to have a Google account and signed into it in order to be able to edit the map and put your pin onto the map.
1. Zoom in to the city or town you are located first.
2. You will see a red "Edit" button on the top of the left window pane. Click on it.
3. On the upper left side of the right window you will see the blue pin. Left click on it once.
4. The blue pin will get highlighted. Then left click and hold this left button down while dragging the pin to your desired location, then let go.
5. You are offered the opportunity to input a title (your moniker and location if you like) and a brief description.
6. Left click the OK button and then the 'Save" button on the left window pane.

You can always go back and edit if you make a mistake.

Congratulations to everyone in getting this moving! I like that everyone is taking photos of the hand-offs!

Just to clear up a little something so the Leg#2 riders don't start getting too excited in thinking we are underway now, Enaz1 is running in the East Coast leg now as he was needed there more than in Leg#2. When the flag makes it to KZCM then Leg#2 will be officially underway! So for now we are NOT underway, the flag has to get up to Maine at least before it comes back to us.

I will be updating the map so as to show who is in Leg#2 down in the south now. We do need another rider to help out in Alabama else BlackZ1-R and boatdrinks are going to have a long day of it!

Everyone ride safe and have a blast doing this! B)

Just added myself to the map for leg #5 (NW).

If Leg #4 needs help I could potentially pick it up in MT and bring it westward, but will wait and see as it gets closer.
