LOL!!! This is the first one like this, see how it's accepted at the show and possibly build permanent templates and fixtures. It's 2" over stock in length.
Here's one more brace fitted with 2 more diagonals yet to be.

This is getting powder coated in a satin metallic silver to simulate freshly blasted aluminum and the eccentrics anodized. My mental picture says this should be a good looking pc. on the chassis.

Nice work! thanks for the process pics. I have wanted to build an S1 replica swing-arm but out of CrMo, and that's pretty much what you've done. Sorry for all the questions, its just cool seeing someone doing all the stuff i want to try. thanks for the inspiration!

Doc., Try it! I'd be happy to give some pointers. I will say weld joint fitment and sequencing of the welds are keys to a good straight armB)

Les, your work is epic... At some point in the future I might be talking to you about a "batwing" upper triple clamp for my 1100 ltd build.

Thanks Moto!
Okay, quick mock up with shock mount tacked in place. Pretty happy with geometry at this point so I'll weld them permanent along with chain guard tabs and brake stay then off to powder coater.

Beer break!!

I am not questioning your work, maybe its my eyes, but looking at the picture that is posted, the piece that is welded on, the part that goes at the bottom, it looks like its not level or parallel with top, does it matter?

Your eyes are right mopguy, it's not parallel. not designed to be. look at almost all underbraced arms you'll see a theme. Couple reasons, a triangle is strong and chain clearance.
Test fit of a similar chain guard to what I'll be running, ready for powder coat

Upper shock mount retainer/fastener

Start on getting triple trees wrapped up and front mounted tomorrow.
