A cafe build I'm doing is approaching it's end so naturally I must dress myself in a grass skirt and rush to the edge of the volcano to fling myself into a new project. I'm doing a build commissioned by my brother, The base is an 82 GPz750 which will get an 810 kit and cams/springs. We want to swap in a more modern front end and a beefier swingarm along with upgraded brakes. Enter a salvage ZRX1100. It runs like a dream, but the motor will be sold. We are going to move the front end over wholesale and then swap in the rear swingarm, brakes and shocks. It will be a couple weeks before I can get started on it as I wrap up the cafe build. Anyone know off the top about the difference between the OD diameter of the upper and lower steering bearing between the 82 GPz and the ZRX1100?

Fork brace, steering damper, and what appear to be 1200R wheels. Nice score.

Ooo, and an aftermarket exhaust system that might be worth a few shekels.

If both bikes have stem bearings currently check to see if the numbers match.

Appears that ZRX1100 had a meeting with, maybe - ASPHALT, CONCRETE, FREEWAY BARRIER, or TRUCK, possibly BRICK WALL, but not GINGER! :laugh:

Ginger is an 82 GPz 750. Marianne is also an 82 GPz 750. Marianne is perfect and stock which I restored for my brother last year. Ginger is going to get plastic surgery and she is going to be a nasty bitch. An 810 kit, cams, and the front end and swingarm from this wrecked ZRX. The upgraded suspension and brakes will be a big plus for Ginger. Why Ginger and Marianne? Because when my brother was asked the age old question "Which one would you want, Ginger or Marianne?" his answer was "Why wouldn't I take Ginger AND Marianne". So we are.
For the ZRX, the PO road it once and while away at work, allowed his son to ride it. The son said to his buddy "you ought to ride this super cool bike" and he promptly missed a turn, went through a barrow ditch, a barbed wire fence and into a field.

Crazy / reckless kid I once worked with at an automotive speed shop - his dad was the district training director for GM mechanics/ technicians. One time dear old dad (who had four crazy and irresponsible sons in total) had brand new ZR1 Corvette and Pontiac Trans-Am "training" vehicles (and a Tahoe) parked in the family driveway when he went away on a fly away vacation. The four delinquents tore the house apart and upside down looking for the keys to those cars, but couldn't find them.
I spoke with him (he trusted me more than his own kids) on the day he returned, laughing as I explained why his house interior had been "re-arranged" while he was gone. He couldn't stop laughing, too - "Did they really think I'm that stupid? I took the damn keys with me!"

I keep reading about 2 Dual shocks that haven't been posted.

Why start a thread and go on about about bikes you're not going to show us? You've only posted the donor cadaver.
