Go for a riveted chain. No splitting the cases.Jan Smit put one in mine and hes been building drag race bikes for years,so,I reckon he knows his onions.Makes no sense spending the money on a new sprocket and not doing the chain as well.False economy.
The bike looks great by the way.

Hi David thanks,
Going to measure the chain tomorrow .
What has Jan Smit done on your engine?
I had not planned doing it myself but the more I read on this forum and the more I take things apart the more I learn.
But now the weather is getting better I want to stop learning and start riding :) .
How is your bike? last thing I read you where taking it to a dyno.

Eric

Hey Eric
I took my motor to Jan for a rebore and new pistons (Wiseco). He also refreshed the head and fitted a new chain. I had stripped the engine myself and was also planning to rebuild it but he offered to put it together for a very good price,so I went with that.
The bike is up near Heerhugowaard at the moment,at a shop with a dyno. I called last week and its pretty much ready. The carbs are set up and its running good,Im told. The ignition was a bit of a mess so he sorted that. I should be able to collect it this week ( great if this weather continues).Ill do an update when I get it .
I have heard of a place near Zeeland, which has a dyno (closer to you than Heerhugowaard) I can find the name/address if youre interested

OK, I've been gone awhile and I'm sorry this might be a little belated but.....

Where did the hugger fender come from? I'd like to do something similar to my GPZ750 and that almost looks like what I was thinking about.

Lol!

You're welcome, amazing what happens when you brainstorm online.

...And have eBay right there. The CBR fender ought to work great. The stock tire is only slightly wider than the max width you can use on the GPz without modification.

All the newer bikes have tires way too wide.
