Because above 80 you get the typical tank slap butt pucker weave of death!

Nice bike! Without scrutinizing the pics, and besides the obvious accessories, looks pretty original Seat catch is wrong tho. Be careful leaving it out in the sun. The paint is vulnerable to peeling and fading.

Mine would do that at 93 mph. Not above or below. I'd lower the windshield. I like mine. I can ride as fast as I want without having to tuck in. Easier on long rides too. Don't have to fight the wind for 100+ miles. B)

Mine did that at 80 with stock shocks. Haven't had it happen after installing a modified set of ZRX shocks....had it up to 120. No frame brace or stabilizer.

Awesome find! Beautiful bike! I assume the the exhaust is original. That is almost unheard of. Personally, I would take off the the accessories. With the exception of maybe the crash bars. Especially if you are not going to do much highway miles. Everything else makes it look a bit nerdy or senior oriented (forget the fact that most us here are senior or near senior, LOL). I completely understand what GpzMod750 is staying. But if your tastes are more sport oriented then you could always take the accessories off and and still have the option of putting them back on at anytime.

Pipes are original, they have the part numbers on them. I was told by a member here that the reproduction pipes do not have the numbers stamped on them. Personally I don't like the accessories but they do give it character, I'll remove them after the vintage bike show. I want to show the bike exactly as I found it, except for the dust of course.

I want to change the oil & filter before i attempt to wake up this ole girl from her 30 year nap. I have the oil and a oem filter. I want to replace the related O-rings while i'm doing the oil change. I usually just call Jim @ Redline but unfortuntally i've read that he is out of business, his # is disconnected. I just called Z1 Parts and i was told that they don't carry the O-rings. Any recommendations?

Jeff @ Z1 Enterprises is very knowledgeable about KZ/Z1's, i had a great phone conversation with him today. The other day i pulled the plugs, fogged the cylinders and gently kicked it over a bunch of times by hand. I just changed the oil & filter, hooked up my jumpbox, sprayed some starting fluid into the airbox and it fired up!!! Then died of course but those couple of seconds was music to my ears! All the lights, horn and switches work as they should. Now i plan to order a carb rebuild kit, M/C & caliper rebuild kit from Jeff. I also need the bolt that holds the oem pliers together, it's missing.

I just noticed that the plug wires still have the number tags on them.
