Figured I better start a projects thread to keep all my dumb questions in one place.

Here she was in August.

And then some assembly required;

And today;

She's been garaged for a long time. !998 in fact. It's getting goddamned cold up here so mostly working on rebuilding brake parts and doing electrical stuff inside for the next few months.

Make sure you look where the cursor is before hitting insert. It will put the picture where the cursor is.

The original owner (my brother in law) hit a deer with it. He lived, the deer didn't, he got some venison. As I'm putting it back together I find little things I never noticed before. The right rear footpeg took a bit of a conk. Straightened it out, not perfect but close enough, with a bit of propane torch and a big persuader.

Get yourself one of them clip on whistle thingys that supposedly sends an ultrasound noise that scares deer and moose off the road. Deer is one thing, moose, they will surely kill you eve n in a car. People in northern Ontario use them a lot.

Very cool bike. Very few twins around, at least in my neck of the woods. I think I've only ever seen one and that was set up for vintage racing

Pipe and jet that twin and it will fly. I love the exhaust note on those too they really growl with aftermarket pipes. Had one in the early 90's. R

They are really cool bikes but win the award for the ugliest side covers. Ever.

It's been unreasonably warm here for this time of year so I got more done putting her back together than I expected. Definately agree with ThatGPzGuy about the ugliest side covers ever which is why they are not going back on.

I'm well pleased with the look of the front end so far. Still need to put little clip on signal lights on the forks.

Test fitted the Frankenbrakes on the front and looks like it will all just bolt together.

In case anyone wants to do this with an old twin here is what I used so far (remains to see if this setup will stop my scooter we'll see come spring).
