I put the GPz back together and it sounds real nice, I broke #1 plug cap so looks like I'll be getting another set of wires. It's running really strong right now but I did find that #3 carb boot is leaking on the carb side even after tightening the clamp as hard as possible. I checked the timing and it's dead on. I think I'll still end up ordering a dyna 2-2 ignition just to be safe. I ran it around the block and it just wants to fly. It's hotter than hell today and it didn't stumble once.

I am getting some popping on decelerating and down shift. I'll adjust the carbs tomorrow, if that doesn't help i guess I'll re-jet which will give me a chance to see why that carb boot isn't seating.

Took her for a spin, rode it as hard as I dared. it just wants to get somewhere in a hurry.

It sounds great.

This seems to be the end of this "project", I've actually gone further than intended at this point. I'll start a new thread when I start on the phase II silliness.

That's an awesome bike! I wish mine was that nice. I definitely would do my best to keep it original.

Me too. I have always loved these since I saw my first one. Unfortunately, it was in the parking lot at college and I had to park my borrowed moped next to it (starving student). Here is my revenge :P :

I'd try to tuck the tailpipe in a bit higher and more angled, also that rear hanger isn't up to the job. Getting there though.

Hey now, you bike IS nice and it's made better by the sweat, blood and tears you have put into it. I love the single round headlight. Your bike stands out.

Thanks, I very much appreciate that. I wasn't trying to disparage my bike, I'm actually very pleased on how good it's turned out so far. Just commenting on how great yours is in original condition. Is it a survivor or restoration?

The headlight is probably the only mod I've made that want also practically or mechanically necessary to some degree. That naked square light was terrible. Came off a 82 Spectre BTW.
