Very nice. The bead blaster is like magic.
Are you doing the entire engine in black?

Yes, sure am but I have started polishing the covers so it's not a total black out.

That will look awesome with the black bodywork. I was looking at my KZP and wondering what the engine would like in black with the white body....

I love those APE covers. I'm also building my motor, but it's taking longer than anticipated. I will begin posting pics near the end...
Great work by the way!
This is my build:

There are many more like it, but this one is mine... news to come!

Really determined to get the motor together before I grow to many grey hairs. What a mongrel getting the gasket off though!

Finally!!!

Made some progress on the engine. Barrels on and the head is nearly back together. Finished sorting out the base of the seat too. I dropped the base off to the motor trimmers doing the seat and they pointed out that since I had chopped off the sides I needed to fill the gap I created around the base.............doh. So here is the base with it's newly filled in section where I had previously cut the sides off to make the seat a little narrower. Hope that makes sense. Base is now back at the motor trimmers and just waiting for the finished item to turn up now.

Finally the pistons for the front calipers arrived ex Japan. Surprisingly cheap which was a bonus. I was expecting the worst! Put the calipers back together with new seals and pads. Will sort some new lines and we will be in business.

Makes life much easier when you know the tricks of the trade. Seal on the piston first and then into the hole. Took me bloody ages to figure that out lol!

Purely a cosmetic mod but my front brake master cylinder doesn't match the clutch one. The front brake has the mount sticking out for the mirror and the clutch doesn't (one off a faired bike and one off a naked). Anal I know but it will drive me batshit so I cut of the mount. Just needs to be pulled apart and painted and you will never know. Least my sanity will be safe lol
