Great job
Quite the transformation from the bike on page 1 and I'm sure it will look even cooler with big race track numbers on it.
Have fun

Yes sir I do. Have fun on the weekend and I will touch base next week. I was going to try to pop down to TMP on Saturday and introduce myself but apparently my wife and I are taking my mother out for lunch. Something about some special day or something?

Well thank you boys! We had a great day on Saturday!! The 550 ran really well, with no real hic-ups! :cheer:

The handling was really steady, as far as I pushed it. I ran it hard enough to drag the right side foot peg a couple pf times. :) Nothing to write home about, but o'k for the first time out on a new bike. ;)

The only other issue appears to be a leaking head gasket. Some oil appeared on the fins and there was visible smoke on the downshifts during the final session. The head will come off soon and we'll have a look-see.

Here are a couple of pics. My brother had his zrx there and we swapped rides for a few laps:

I'm beginning to think that if the head is going to come off, I should take this opportunity to swap out the stock head and carbs for the GPz set-up. Bigger, badder, faster!! ;) It would retain the "kz stealth factor" too.

Of course, this would also be a great time to get the Kerker K series 'race' pipe patched up and bolted on as well. B)

Great looking photos! I see a camera on there so expect video too? ;)

I think you can keep the head, but if you want the gpz effect, you will need the pistons, cams, and oil cooler/oil pan. If you want the CV carbs, then from the later Gpz's, you'll need the 82/83 Kz H1/H2 head or the 84/85 Zx A1/A2 head, but those will be less stealthy since the stying is more angular. I think you could even get away with the 83 Kz A4, 83 Kz M1, or 83/84 Kz F1/F2 heads, as they can take the larger carbs (the M and F bikes are the shaft drive cruisers, the KzA4 is the last year of the standard, all of the above have more angular fins and valve covers). The gpz stuff is in the cams and pistons.

Ya, there's one video. It's long and needs an edit, but I'll see what I can do in a week or so. I 'm on holidays this week. :cheer:

Well, with all the bits I need, maybe I should just drop the whole GPz engine into the kz frame. :cheer: I have one waiting. B)
