Just got it this morning. 1977 KZ1000 ltd. Pretty much all original. Got more original parts in a box including the air cleaners. Extra lights, mirrors, plugs, jets, books, key and paperwork. 8600 original miles. Awesome condition. Been garaged for 20 years, one owner. Engine still free. 500.00. Paid cash and ran. This is in such nice shape, I'm going all the way back to Original on her. Just enjoy it that way. I think I made a good buy.

Damn.....you stole it! The exhaust is worth 4-5x that. Change your post to say you paid $5000 will you? I've been thinking more and more about selling mine but not if they are only going for $500 now. Jeeze.

The owners man. Shows a blue one, the two early kz1100s I used to own were blue so I figured blue was the primary color offered. I was very happy with the metallic brown.

So what was the difference between the Ltd and the standard?

He didn't know what he had and I was happy with the price even sight unseen as I new the parts were worth more. I had no idea it was this good. So it was a steel. I don't think anyone can hope to do this. For the first time I get lucky and find the golden egg in a dusty toy box.

Forks - different length, handle bars have more pull back, chrome on gauges and headlight housings, chrome chain guard, blinkers different, ugly but comfy stepped seat, different exhaust, jetting in carbs for different exhaust, no center stand, mag wheels, dual disk up front, single rear, different shocks, gas tank smaller, front brake master cylinder different - 5/8" bore for dual disk.....maybe a few other things I'm missing.

Mirrors, rear grab rail/bar different for step seat shape, I see that's missing....maybe its in your box of goodies?

Probably still a few other things I'll think of. Put the stock airbox back on it, check jetting/change back to stock if not, clean the carbs, replace the carb holders, clean the gas tank out ( hopefully it's not rusty inside) and I bet it will fire up. If it does then time to replace the old brown brake fluid, motor oil, check/lube the chain, new tires....and go ride it.

Do you have the correct front brake master cylinder? Reservoir will be a milky plastic and barrel shaped. Do you have the airbox silencer and tool tray even? Tool kit?
