Although the airbox is 1 piece, it kind of has a front section & rear section.
The face of the front section with the duct holes is 12.5" W x 6.5 H.
Front to back the airbox is about 6.5 D.
The rear section of the airbox is about 7.5" W x 6.5 H x 4.5 D.

Just two things to say. Front brace and man watch that seat. Bump and slide onto that back tire and you will know what a real skid mark is! Clean the carbs REAL good. Get to all the orifices. You will thank yourself and consider an airbox. They work real well!!! How many things was that? I like the bike......
Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

No. Those are the airbox measurements. The ducts take up the space between the carbs & airbox.
The airbox is installed from the carb side of the frame.

sorry thats what i meant. though i was thinking that i maybe had to make shorter ducts because of the way the frame sits.. ill measure it out.. do you have to remove the carbs to put in the airbox?

Yes, the carbs need to come off in order to squeeze the airbox into the frame. Ed

Should also be possible to use earlier 650 slide carbs and pods to run the bike.

Would just have to rejet and tune accordingly. Slide carbs respond a lot better to not having an airbox than CV carbs

The mid-frame down tubes are probably close to the stock configuration. I would focus more on the area rearward of there & in front of the battery. Use the diagrams at Kawasaki.com or Partzilla & eebbaayy photos to see how much the frame has been modified. At this point you'll have to figure out whether or not the airbox will go in. :)

If youre going with pods, I'd be more inclined to track down a set of slide carbs for the 650 and go that route, they respond a bit better to not running the airbox.
