Howdy. Cheap is good... most of those types of projects I've seen are way over priced.
Since the bike has CV carbs, it might be an 82 model.
You can check the VIN at Kawasaki.com (USA models).

Make sure the seat won't contact the pos (+) battery terminal --- someone here on KZR reported that boo boo. The front fender acts as a fork brace. You could install a fender or a fork brace. If you don't know the age of the rear brake shoes, replace them. A lining can separate from a shoe & get jammed between the shoe & drum, locking the rear wheel. It happened to me, so it does happen. :)

The following site has the 81 KZ650 pdf in the Files section: jarlef z650
If your bike is an 82, you probably ought to get the 81-82 650 manual. A lot of stuff is the same, but it will have the BS32 carb info & there can be minor differences, such as the fork oil amount.

Having a difficult time finding the manual on that site. but no it fires over but wont stay running unless you spray starting fuild in the carbs no air box or filters.. i just soaked the carbs to cleann them but im pretty sure it wouldn't stay running due to the fact that all the lines to thw carbs were missing aside for the fuel tank one so ive got those replace but decided to just clean the carbs before retrying to run it.

Be sure to add an inline fuel filter between the fuel tank and carbs after cleaning the carbs and before re-attaching the fuel lines. Otherwise they may instantly get dirty again. Ed

On the jarlef Z650 main page, click the Files link in the upper left.
On the Files page the manual is at the lower/middle right. Click the image of the manual's cover.

Without the airbox or air filters installed, you basically have the equivalent of a huge vacuum leak.
The bike needs the airbox to run right. CV carburetors are difficult to tune for individual filters --- you'd need to rejet the carbs & you might want to try adding extenders between the individual filters & carbs.

You'll have to figure out whether or not the airbox will go back in.
If not, someone else suggested using the carb extenders to help stabilize the air.
Someone on another forum used them successfully on his 440.
I guess you'd want them to be about the same length as the airbox ducts or maybe a tad longer???
