Am collecting parts for the next project - as you do, even though my current one still has a little way to go.

A super light weight and a bit techy Z800 Racer. In theory, much easier to build as most parts are off the shelf and bolted to a bit of bespoke magic. No side panels for that super stripped look.


650/750 Frame, heavily modified for mono shock.
ZX10R Swingarm.
810cc Motor tweaked for revs.
Slide Carbs (this time).
Marchesini Forged Wheels.
Ohlins at both ends.
Titanium 4-into-1 with no extension past the Sump - like a Ducati Panigale.
Titanium Axles, Swing Pivot and Fasteners.
Custom Yokes.
Racing Battery and Kickstart only.
Murdered out bald everything.
Lawson Tank paint design.

Gotta love seeing another nice build from you, when does the build begin?

Well, I have a frame and swing arm so its begun.

But first comes a lot of research into geometry as I want this to be properly suspended and balanced. Really sorted handling not bolt on modern parts for 'the look'. Then this time I'll get all the parts machined in one go rather than the drip feed process of before.

Hopefully it will be much easier as the spoked wheels caused me a lot of aggro last time and necessitated all kinds of tricks to fit them to USD forks and get big brakes to clear spokes etc.

This time its a swingarm and forks with a wheel set that was always designed to fit.

I want to go 190 rear tyre also so all kinds of clearances to sort - but again, mono-shock will help.
