I did not realize that was your video, I'm really excited to get it on and test it out. Unfortunately, I have errands a lot of work to do before it can do so. Are you running a stock motor with yours. If so what carbs and jetting?

Schweet! You will enjoy mucho miles in coddled comfort! Got a Corbin Gunfighter & Lady for my ZRX. It is the best saddle for long distance out of three that I have for that bike.

I'm looking very forward to may miles on the new seat.

Items left before the Rally
-TIG in frame brace kit
-Carb rebuild (this includes cleaning/polishing housings)
-Frame and swing arm paint
-Tank and body paint (Metalic Gun Metal greyish with Metalic black stipes. One fat stripe one skinny just off center, -outlined in green)
-Build new wiring harness
-Build handle bar brackets
-Build rear caliper bracket
-Replace valve stem seals
-General tune up

Damn that's a lot of work.

Worked on the carbs a bit today. Have had them sitting in diesel fuel for 2 weeks. All the passages are clear. Going to polish the tops and bottoms. Possibly the bodies. Here is a little preview. If I can't find a way to get in all the nooks crannies of the bodies I will paint them black.

Good to read of your progress. As far as exterior carb cleaning/spiffing. I too cleaned into the nook & crannies as best as I could. I am sure someone will come along with an effective solution. Not sure painting carbs is good for them, don't know but would be an interesting look.

Well the GPz carbs were all painted black from the factory, so as long as you aren't getting paint into orifices you shouldn't then you should be fine. I think it would look great as black bodies and polished top and bottom caps.

I'm going to try some duplicolor caliper paint I have. It brushes on son I can control were it goes. Going to try it on some scrap aluminum first. I will post some picks if it's a go.

Well I gave it a shot trying to polish the entire carb body. Even with the cone shaped polishing bits I could not get in all of the nooks and crannies. My OCD would not allow me to leave areas unpolished. So I opted for VHT gloss black engine paint with polished caps and fuel bowls. I still have to polish the bowl in the pic but you get the idea. Let me know what you guys think. The engine will be the same black with polished covers.

i'm not a painted carb guy by any means
.but when done like you are doing if the engine is painted black with polished covers it should all come together nicely, and will look sweet  .
to me the carbs kinda vaguely resemble little engines anyways
