You are doing a great job. Keep it up and keep those pictures coming..

I just rebuilt and painted the rear caliper(extra one), one front caliper rebuild and painted(spare also). Mine have been rebuilt but not painted so I am going to put the fresh one's on when I put my two Nos fork tubes in this winter.

Good luck with your bike.

That's what I'm doing too....I've rebuilt and painted a spare rear caliper and have two spare fronts for when I convert the front end to dual disk. I have a full set of new EBC brake rotors to use.

Speaking of brakes....I'm getting ready to paint the new EBC brake rotors. They came in a very plain silver/gray anodize. I've been thinking black all along but now I'm thinking about gold. Any thoughts? It seems a lot of the new sport bikes have gold brake rotors. I plan to keep the stock black / gold paint.
Front rotor ready to paint:

It's hard to see the color in the photos but the disc centers are a really plain gray:

Got the GS1100 swingarm all mounted. It took about 10mm of spacers to provide a very tight fit. I had to lightly tap the last washer into place....should be really good with no slop. I used regular 5/8" washers, two on each side. They fit the 16mm pivot axle very well. I bought a handful and sorted them by thickness. They range from 2mm to 2.5mm, so I picked out four of the 2.5mm washers to use.

When you say you got the swing arm to be a very tight fit, are you talking about the swing arm sleeve and caps and not the swing arm itself? The sleeve and caps should be tight between the frame members, but the swing arm should rotate up and down freely on the bearings (or bushings if so equipped). Ed

Yes, I meant tight between the swingarm and the frame. The swingarm pivots nicely but it is pretty tight. How freely should it swing?

Had to modify a spare stock inner fender to clear the swingarm. I cut if off just below the point where it gets narrow and had to cut a small notch on the bottom right side too (viewed from the rear).
Before pic (cut line needed to be slightly higher than marked here):

This one shows the final cut line and the notch mark:

I saw an old picture and wondered about that just a few days ago! That thing sure looks cool. I hit a tough spot and needed some money at the time. The place I bought it is out of business and I don't think they can by purchased anymore. Always wanted to have the clutch pressure plate anodized in a nice bright color. I had mine mounted with a lock up and a spacer:
